Types of Volunteer Opportunities
There are many different volunteer paths at Communities In Schools of Northwest NC. If you can spare an hour a week, you can become a part of our Lunch Buddies program and eat lunch with a student in K-3rd grade once a week. Have more time to give? Mentor a child in our Friends of Youth program. You can find out more about these volunteer opportunities on our programs page. If you are an Alexander County resident, we offer the Reading Partner program in elementary schools and there are always opportunities with our site coordinators to come into the schools and work with our students.
In Ashe County, we currently have the Friends of Youth program and site coordination.
Not all of our volunteers work directly with children. We also need volunteers to assist with fundraisers and general office work. If you have time to get involved, Communities In Schools of NWNC has a place for you!
